The National Drovers Hall of Fame
This is the vision of a historic community dedicated to the restoration of its signature building with the distinctive oriel, and the building's creation as a tribute to the cattle industry and its place in American history.
Ellsworth, a town of about 2,900, is located in the Smoky Hills of Central Kansas, between two world class attractions, the Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure near Salina and the Sternberg Museum of natural History at Hays. Nearby is Interstate 70 and going past the town to the east and north are Kansas Highways 156 and 14 and Kansas Highway 140. The town's location, combined with its history as a rail head for the shipment of cattle, provides the ideal environment for the National Drovers Hall of fame to operate successfully as a museum with interactive exhibits and research facilities. As the Cattle drives themselves, the Drover Hall of Fame is expected to extend its appeal beyond the borders of Ellsworth County and even Kansas.
