SMALL TOWN.

BIG HISTORY.

**ELLSWORTH, KANSAS**
THE HISTORY

It is said

"Abilene, the first, Dodge City, the last, But Ellsworth, the wickedest."

That's only a portion of the rich cattle heritage of the community.

Ellsworth was a vital and important major shipping point on the Kansas Pacific Railroad, and home to thousands of cattle being moved up the trail.  Learn about the rich history that inspired a national project.

OUR PLAN

The National Drovers Hall of Fame is a grand vision to pay tribute to the nation's proud cattle industry, featuring:

  • A museum featuring an archive of memorabilia honoring the cattle industry

  • A research facility

  • A movie theatre for public performances

  • Destination Attraction

DONATE OR SUPPORT

A national preservation, this project is the undertaking of a group of passionate volunteers who wish to bring this project to life.  There are many ways you can support the project, through financial support, by sharing the information, or by lending your volunteer hand.  Join us on the drive to project completion!

MISSION STATEMENT

The National Drovers Hall of Fame embraces the heritage and sacrifices that were made in establishing Rural America.  We are striving to build our future on those commitments and ideas that established our present existence.

VISION STATEMENT:

The National Drovers Hall of Fame acknowledges the endeavors of the drovers - America's real cowboys - as the founders of the great American cattle industry.  It recognizes the unique history of the cattle drive era by honoring the drovers, the cattle, the horses, the men, the women, the railroads, and the cattletowns which made it all happen by sharing the legacy, promoting the beef industry, and preserving the cowboy way of life.
